Companion Guide
TREE: A World in Itself was created for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and adapted for children with intellectual disabilities and/or reduced mobility.

This 1-hour show is for children aged 4 and up. They are our superstars of the moment.

Our superstars can move around, get up from their seats, or leave the performance room and take a break in our relaxation area. They are free to return to the performance room when they feel ready.

Our superstars can talk, sing, laugh, or even yell if it helps them enjoy the show. ​
Photos and videos

To avoid additional sensory stimulation, please refrain from using electronics during the performance (i.e., cell phones, tablets, etc.).

The actors will be available for photos after the show.
Performance room

A big tree is in the middle of the performance room. The tree is surrounded by round floor cushions (“nests”).

There is 1 floor cushion per child with chairs placed behind it.

Once you have chosen your spot, please refrain from going onto the cushions or chairs of other audience members.

There is an area close to the action for children with reduced mobility.
Relaxation area

If your child is uncomfortable during the show and wants to leave the performance room, you can gently guide them to our relaxation area where they can take a break from the show. They can return to the performance room whenever they feel ready.

A staff member or actor may guide your child to the relaxation area if your child would like to leave the performance room. Please accompany your child at all times in the performance room and relaxation area.
